YMCA George Williams College – Youth Work conference 9th Feb 2015 by Eastlondonradio on Mixcloud

Youth and Community Work is an unseen yet vitally important part of our community life. Maxine Green, the Principal of the YMCA George Williams College in Freemasons Road, Canning Town, speaks about a recent Conference at the College where the focus was on how to prove that youth work works as well as it does. Quality research really helps us to know how young people use social media, measuring the harm and the benefits, how young people engage with gangs and how we can support them not to, and how large projects have a major impact across the country. Our training at the College equips adults to work with young people to support them in a range of circumstances both where they face difficulties and where they can grow, development and thrive. Listen to this to get an idea of what we do and who we are.
