I think this is going to be the opening of every blog here but it’s another amazingly crazy week at East London Radio. So here’s what we got up to these last 7 days….
This week we had another live recording of Soundcheck in ELR. An amazingly talented group of musicians called Alya Marquardt Band came in to perform a few numbers for us… stay tuned to hear the result on Soundcheck coming to the website really soon.
So many volunteers came in this week to finalise their show ideas. We have such a new range of shows coming that we’re all very excited about. Thank you again to everyone who gives their time to East London Radio, we appreciate everything and keep up the good work!
Stuart Burnside from the Wapping Hockey Club went along to winter pride at the Tobacco Dock in Wapping on Saturday evening. He was their to talk to people about the subject of Inclusion in Sport. We will be posting a podcast in the coming days.
We interviewed Screenwriter and Director Daniel Johnson about his upcoming web-series called ‘Sally The Life Coach’ starring Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street, Strictly come dancing). Interview includes exclusive audio from the series and will be available to listen to from Wednesday with web-series launching Sunday 16th Feb.
We are now ready to start work with our new parters Spotlight. We are so excited to start working in their amazing space in Poplar.
East London Radio is about to begin it’s work with the Hackney Schools Project thanks Stars EU. We will be delivering lectures on aspects of the media to children from 4 Hackney schools with the aim of them showcasing a project at the end of term. We are very excited to see what great ideas these guys are going to come up with.
We’ve been waiting for confirmation so as to put this in the blog and finally we have the green light. February 28th in the Victoria and Albert Museum, East London Radio will be hosting our very own V&A Friday Late! We are going to be showcasing the incredibly interesting area that is Hackney Wick. For those of you who don’t know Hackney Wick is the home of our first studio where we have recording most of our shows and we are excited for the opportunity to show everyone some of the great things about this place. We are so excited for this project and cannot wait to meet everyone and share with them what we do. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on what we’re going to be doing.
