TEDx Covent Garden Women Conference 7th December

Kakul came into our studio to meet Ian recently to talk about this forthcoming Conference, which will be held on Saturday 7th December 2013, from 11.00am at The Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden.

The theme of the event is Un-Labelled, challenging socially, culturally and politically constructed labels and highlighting the dangers of ‘gendering’ that affects the very existence of all human beings – men and women. We also want to show how an ‘Un-Labelled’ woman can re-invent herself.

The line up of speakers includes Laura Bates, founder of the Everyday Sexism; Leyla Hussein, co founder of Daughters Of Eve, working to protect girls and young women who are at risk from female genital mutilation (FGM); and Natasha Walter, author of Living Dolls: the Return of Sexism and The New Feminism.  Full details of all the speakers can be found here: http://www.tedxcoventgardenwomen.com/#!speakers-2013/c1n0f

This will be a part of the global TEDWomen conference in San Francisco.
